Shades are a very important tool for growing. If you have the best lamp and the best ballast, but a bad or no shade, you will never get optimal results. The shade directs the light from the discharge lamp to the plant. If you don't have one, the discharge lamp will shine in all directions and you lose valuable light unnecessarily.
What shade do I need?
The first thing is important to measure the space and find out how big a shade we need. It varies according to size and is calculated per m2. For example, a shade labeled Medium is ideal for a size of 120x120cm. A Large or XXL Large lampshade is already suitable for a 150x150cm tent. For small spaces under 100x100cm, a lampshade marked Small is sufficient.
