This measuring device impresses above all with its low price and practical dimensions, as it fits comfortably in your pocket. When analyzing water or nutrient solution, it automatically compensates for the temperature difference. It is easy to operate and suitable even for beginners.

The probe is not replaceable, the meter is not waterproof.

In addition to the plastic box and EC meter, the package also includes a calibration screwdriver, batteries and instructions for use.

The importance of EC monitoring:

The current EC value is the best indicator of whether the nutrient solution for growing herbs is ideally saturated. And therefore, whether it is necessary to add water and thereby reduce the EC or add fertilizers and thus increase the EC. Incorrect values representing over-fertilization or under-nutrition can endanger the health and development of plants. The EC of the water for watering can differ in mineral content (tap water, well, stream) and can also significantly affect the resulting EC of the solution.

This EC meter is not suitable for measuring the electrical conductivity of soil, but only of liquids. Fertilizers and other factors can also affect the pH value of the nutrient solution. The EC value fluctuates more in recirculation systems than in drain systems. Measurements should only be made with perfectly mixed solutions so that the concentration is homogeneous. The correct concentration of nutrients is of course important in all phases of the growing cycle. When growing herbs, remember that each plant has a different ideal EC value and each fertilizer has a different effect.

Calibration:

In the enclosed manual see how to properly calibrate the meter. You can extend the life of the device and the error-free measurements by using high-quality buffers and storage solutions, all of which you can also purchase from our offer.
Calibration is recommended to be performed approximately once a month. Use a sterile calibration solution for each calibration.
