GV15, UV-C germicidal compact fluorescent lamp 5W, T5 (length 67mm)
UVC germicidal compact fluorescent lamp, two-socket linear low-pressure discharge lamp. The fluorescent lamp has a G23 socket, 2Pin bulb design and 6W power. Short-wave ultraviolet radiation serves to effectively sterilize air, liquids and surfaces. Solid bodies absorb radiation at the surface layer, water and other liquids are semi-transparent. Germicidal UVC radiation (more info on Wikipedia.cz) causes the destruction or damage of RNA, DNA, proteins, enzymes, macromolecules and biopolymers, the consequence of UVC radiation is the impossibility of replication of genetic information, the impossibility of reproduction and thus their destruction. Furthermore, it reliably destroys the vast majority of bacteria, microorganisms, viruses, bacilli, streptococci, protozoa, spores, fungi, yeasts, algae, and thrips. It is a photochemical process of disinfection/sterilization during which no toxic by-products or chemical products are created that would affect the environment. The germicidal fluorescent lamp GV15 is suitable for sterilization and disinfection (90%) of spaces up to 2.4 m3 in size, for operating theaters half the size should be considered. The filter glass of the fluorescent lamp limits the formation of ozone, which is created at a wavelength of 185 nm, and the inner coating, in turn, limits the degradation of useful UV-C radiation, which is at a wavelength of 253.7 nm. A lamp with a ballast is required for the operation of this fluorescent lamp.
